Jewellery Care Guide
Our jewellery is designed to be worn and loved every day. Over time, all metals can naturally change colour due to exposure to moisture, chemicals, and air. This is a normal and expected process known as oxidation.
Silver stainless steel pieces are highly durable and can remain beautiful for years with proper care. While they may still experience natural wear over time, they do not contain any plating and generally maintain their appearance longer when cared for correctly. Our gold stainless steel pieces are made using PVD gold plating. PVD gold-plated stainless steel is designed to be long-lasting, and with proper care, the finish typically remains vibrant for many months. However, like all plated jewellery, the gold layer may gradually fade with regular use. This is a natural part of everyday wear and is not considered a manufacturing fault.
Please note: Studio Revie is not responsible for wear and tear after purchase, so it’s highly recommended that you follow our jewellery care guide to keep your pieces looking their best for as long as possible.
You can follow these easy steps to help your jewellery stay beautiful for longer:
Silver Stainless Steel Care Instructions
Your silver stainless steel piece is designed to last — but with a little extra care, you can keep it looking as radiant as the day you received it. Follow these simple steps to help prevent wear, dullness, or damage over time.
Avoid contact with chemicals
Although stainless steel is resistant to tarnishing and corrosion, it’s best to avoid harsh chemicals such as bleach, chlorine, perfumes, and lotions. We recommend removing your jewellery before swimming or bathing to help preserve its finish and shine.
Store properly
Keep your jewellery in a dry place, stored separately in a pouch or jewellery box to prevent scratches and tangling. Proper storage ensures your pieces stay polished and beautiful for years to come.
Clean regularly
After each wear, gently wipe your jewellery with a soft polishing cloth to remove oils, sweat, and residue.
For a deeper clean:
Mix warm water with a mild soap. Gently clean your jewellery using a soft cloth. Rinse thoroughly with water. Pat dry immediately with a soft, clean cloth.
For pieces with rhinestones, stones, or pearls:
Do not soak these pieces in water. Instead, mix warm water with a mild soap and use a damp cloth to gently clean only the metal around the rhinestone, stone, or pearl. Dry immediately with a soft, clean cloth.
Handle with care
Even though stainless steel is durable, it can still scratch or dull over time. Avoid dropping or knocking your jewellery against hard surfaces, and handle each piece gently when putting it on or taking it off.
Gold Plated Stainless Steel Care Instructions
Our PVD gold-plated stainless steel pieces require a little extra love compared to silver stainless steel. PVD gold-plated stainless steel pieces typically maintain their finish for many months when cared for correctly. With a few simple steps, you can keep them looking radiant and lasting beautifully over time.
Avoid contact with chemicals and moisture
Although gold-plated stainless steel can handle occasional moisture, we highly recommend removing your jewellery before swimming, showering, or exercising to keep it looking its best and preserve it from wear over time.
Store properly
Keep your gold plated pieces in a dry, cool place—ideally in a soft pouch or lined jewellery box. Store each piece separately to prevent scratching and tangling.
Clean gently
To clean, lightly wipe with a soft, dry polishing cloth after each wear. Do not soak these pieces in water. Avoid using soaps, or cleaning solutions, as they can erode the gold plating.
For a deeper clean, mix water and use a damp cloth to clean your pieces, then dry with a soft, clean cloth.
Gold plated jewellery requires extra care—avoid rough handling, dropping, or rubbing against other hard surfaces to prevent scratches or fading. Always put on your jewellery last, after applying perfume or lotion.
